Bioluminescence Kayaking
A night kayak through water that glows blue with every paddle stroke — one of the more unusual things you can do after dark on Havelock.
On the right night, the water around Havelock lights up with a natural blue glow wherever it's disturbed — caused by microscopic plankton called dinoflagellates. Paddling through it in a kayak, with the glow trailing off your paddle, is the closest thing to swimming through stars.
This is a natural phenomenon, so conditions vary — your guide will pick the best route and timing for the night you go out.

Paddle out into calmer, darker water away from ambient light, where the glow is most visible.
